That word perfectly describes what our reaction to the Gospel should be not just a mental yes. Astonished by the presence of the Father Son and Spirit in us. Overwhelmed by the fact that they came into our world to reveal their irresistible love. Blown away that they provided a way for us to be set free from the delusions of separation and traditional doctrines of men that bound us in fear.

“a feeling of great surprise and wonder”

This good news isn’t just some reasonable contractual escape hatch from the eternal rotisserie in hell. The true Gospel: is that which shows us we were unconditionally loved before the very foundation of the cosmos and is absolutely mind blowing.  It defies western logic and all rational thought. The church  had to introduce universal depravity doctrines to make their list of penances or specific prayer a viable escape plan. We needed to be tricked into the deception that Papa God was really disappointed in how we turned out. The demented truth demanded satisfaction in a twisted retribution of the cross.

Be astonished by His great goodness and love which has held us since before we were born!
